Wrapping Up....
... and Unwrapping a New Year
December 31, 2020Greetings Silvrbackers!
Well, that was a strange one - 2020, that is. More than happy to wrap it up and put it on the shelf. Happy to unwrap 2021 and see what's in store. I'm guessing many of you feel the same way.
Fortunately for me, I avoided COVID but it did disrupt, stall and even stop my many projects. The natural problems that come with having too many balls in the air to begin with (my usual state) was exacerbated by events of the year. Silvrback was certainly impacted. Throw in a major medical issue in the latter part of the year and, well, you end up overall with a hot mess.
With Silvrback, we basically maintained the status quo this year. Guess I should be thankful with that, but I'm not happy about it. Our small team here relies on me being focused and providing guidance as to priorities and initiatives. And that simply didn't happen.
The messes I need to clean up don't stop being messes on December 31, but hopefully the start of 2021 on January 1st will see the beginning of a return to some semblance of order and stability. Fortunately, Silvrback was not a mess to be cleaned up this year.
I am an eternal optimist, of course, so I'm excited about the prospects for the new year. I hope you are, too.
I won't attempt to laundry list the things I hope to make happen on Silvrback this year (I'll talk about these as they get sorted out), but I don't want to write this email again next December. So, I'm motivated to get things moving again. Nothing grandiose, mind you, but I'm shooting for a thing or two that adds real value to the writer experience on Silvrback.
Best wishes for the new year, Silvrbackers. May the good things of life find you.
Kermit
