Account Security
Optional 2FA Now Available
July 21, 2023Hi Silvrbackers!
If you're looking to beef up your Silvrback blog account security, then you may find this new feature useful. Two-factor authentication (2FA) through your account email is an option you can enable to further secure your account.
The feature is optional and the default setting is disabled.
Enabling Account Security
Here's a quick run down on how you should interact with the feature.
Log into your account like you would normally. Go to the blog setup screen located in your blog menu. Scroll down to the Account Security section and click Enabled to activate the feature. Be sure to scroll down and save your new settings.
The feature will be active the next time you log in.
You'll note from the graphic to the right that the new feature is located just below the Private-Public Blog option section in the setup screen.
Next Time You Log In
The next time you log into your account, you will first see the usual sign-in screen seeking your username and password.
When you log in, another screen will pop up directing you to your blog account email to locate and enter the verification code needed to complete the log-in process.
Copy the code and enter it into the field provided and submit to access your account.
The verification code is valid for five minutes. If the code expires, simply click the resend verification code link and a new code will be sent to your account email. Be sure to use this new code as all others will be invalid.
There you have it - Silvrback simple.
Thanks for writing with us.
